Sports Funding
Swimming
At Allerton Bywater Primary School, our children have whole-class swimming lessons in Years 3 and 4. We also have additional intensive swimming lessons for children in Years 5 and 6 who cannot yet confidently swim 25 metres. All our children are working towards being able to:
- swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres.
- use a range of strokes effectively.
- perform safe, self-rescue in different water-based situations.
The percentage of children reaching these goals are contained within our PE impact report below.
PE Funding
The Government provides additional funding to primary schools to support the improvement of provision of PE and sport. This funding is ring-fenced and can only be spent on PE and sport.
